This upcoming Summer, I am happy to announce new on-line, Orton-Gillingham Training that will be presented in June and July. I will be presenting these new classes with Whizzimo, the premier digital teaching platform for multisensory reading and spelling. It is the ultimate way to conduct teacher training. The 30 hour, 5 day class will follow the curriculum of the Classroom Educator certification course of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators.

Participants will be introduced to the concept of Dyslexia and the biological and neurological aspects.  The Orton-Gillingham Approach will be introduced.  This is the structured, sequential, cumulative, and multi-sensory approach to the teaching of language.  Participants will learn about the diagnosis and prescriptive instruction necessary.  They will be introduced to the Orton-Gillingham Lesson Plan and Student Profile. The course will show how Orton-Gillingham can be integrated into all types of classrooms (self-contained, resource room pullout, mainstream, elementary, middle, and high school) and across all content curriculum.

The course will be presented, live on-line, two times:
June 19 – 24
August 7 – 11

Each day, the class will run from 9:00am – 5:00pm EST

The process of writing is highly related to the process of reading: readers and writers are both constructing and composing meaning.
